Teenager stabbed in morning attack

Police have launched an appeal for information after a teenager was stabbed in Holytown on Sunday morning.

The 18-year-old was walking through the lane between Sunnyside Avenue and Main Street in the town when the driver of a black VW Golf car ran up the lane and attacked him with a bladed weapon.

The assailant, also male, then ran back to the car and sped off.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital where he was treated for upper body injuries.
