Noose story

-

Many years ago, people thought that to hang a fellow human was abhorrent, with the result that capital punishment was abolished. The main reason the general public agreed was that an innocent person could be hanged.

Now, since the discover y of DNA, this is unlikely and, as a result, the return of capital punishment should once again be debated, more so as we read almost every day of a murder taking place, which in my opinion is because there is a lack of a real deterrent.

At the time of the debate on capital punishment, the people who genuinely felt very passionately against hanging thought that if capital punishment was abolished, life in prison for those convicted of murder would actually mean that.

At the time of the debate they called the ones who supported the death penalty “the hanging brigade”. I wonder how they feel now, with so many lives lost and the terrible suffering of their families involved ?
