USP Go off grid

No2 Doune presents a perfect opportunity to live in one of Scotland’s most spectacular and remote settings.

It is one of just four homes overlooking Doune Bay on the Knoydart Peninsula, and is accessible only by boat or on foot. The house was built in 1997 and has been designed to make the most of the views over the Sound of Sleat to Skye.

It has four bedrooms, three reception rooms and energyefficient features including solar panels, a generator with battery bank, inverters and solar gain provided by the glass at the front of the house.

There is access to a shingle beach with moorings available in the bay.

The Knoydart peninsula is divided between a number of landowners, most notably the Knoydart Foundation set up to support the communities and resources.

Homeowners in Doune are members of the Doune Association and benefit from communal facilities, including the pier, boat shed and slipway, as well as a supportive community spirit. There is a small restaurant with rooms in the village, open seasonally.

Although the peninsula is off grid, the community has 4G mobile phone connection, landline connection and internet is via a microwave link to Skye.
