Bullying boors
Brian Wilson calls the SNP’S Westminster MPS a “boorish rabble” (Perspective, Friday, June 6).
One wonders what, had he been there at the time, he might have said about Charles Parnell’s Irish Home Rule party and its tactics of regularly disrupting parliamentary business. Perhaps, too, he should be reminded of the loutish behaviour of some Scottish Labour members to Mrs Winifred Ewing when she joined the House of Commons after her 1967 by-election victory at Hamilton.
She described this herself and I can recall the late John P Mackintosh MP, speaking of his own disquiet about this.
