Petrofac gets wind in sails thanks to Dutch deal
Oil services group Petrofac has been awarded a Dutch offshore wind contract.
The deal is with Tennet, the Dutch-german transmission grid operator, for the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore grid connection and more specifically for the Alpha and optional Beta substations in the North Sea.
Petrofac – a major employer in Scotland – will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the third and fourth substations which have a total contract value of about $200 million (£151m).
The Dutch government is targeting a total of 3.5 gigawatt of wind energy production capacity offshore by 2023.
