Stay close to EU

-

Nicola Sturgeon has said SNP MPS will continue to push for the UK to retain close ties with the EU postbrexit, claiming such a move would command greater support than Theresa May’s current plans.

“I lead a country that voted not to leave the EU”. Sorry hen, it was a referendum for the whole UK. Now do us all a favour, call a Scottish election and then we can be rid of you.

capt jeffrey spaulding o.b.e. “I lead a country that voted to stay part of the UK”. There, fixed it for you Nicola. Don’t mention it.

Ally South We didn’t vote to leave the EU for short-term narrow economic gain, any more than we voted to remain in the UK for purely economic reasons. The SNP tar us all with the same grasping, materialistic brush, as if we only respond to bawbees being dangled in front of us. I love the UK. I love being part of a large parliamentary democracy. I stand in solidarity with my fellow subjects. For richer or for poorer. For better and for worse. But together.

Hugh_oxford Of course, Sturgeon could play an ace here, and accept the Chequers proposals, which to all intents and purposes would suit her and her party down to the ground. But that would mean siding with Tories. So with Scotland as her prime interest, as she keeps repeating to the chagrin of many of us, what is she waiting for?

Well done, stay on track Nicola, the majority of Scotland is right behind you

No such thing as a soft or hard Brexit. That was only invented after the vote. And the majority voted to leave so that is what we must do. I’ve no time for folk who couldn’t be bothered voting to now complain about the result.

How many times does Sturgeon need to be told that Scotland is not a member of the EU and so can neither vote to stay or leave. As for damaging the Scottish economy, leaving the UK would be far more of a disaster.

Aristotle Well Sturgeon, just wait till the next election and see what the majority of Scots think of you and your party.
