Housing market activity growth

A c t i v i t y i n t h e S c o t t i s h housing market is continuing to grow while it slows across the rest of the UK, a report has found.

N e w l y - a g r e e d s a l e s a c r o s s t h e U K s a w a 1 6 t h s u c c e s s i v e m o n t h o f d e c l i n e c o m p a r e d t o increasing growth in Scotland since Januar y 2018, according to the latest Royal Institutio­n of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) survey.

N e w b u y e r i n q u i r i e s were strong in June, with a net balance of 33 per cent mor e c h a r t e r e d s u r ve y - ors reporting an increase in demand for new homes across Scotland.

S u r v e y o r s q u e s t i o n e d in the study expect house sales to increase over the next three months, with prices being driven up as demand continues to outpace supply.

The sur vey found fewer properties are being put up for rent.
