#PMQS

It was stand-in time at the weekly grilling of the Prime Minister as Theresa May was at a Nato summit, allowing her deputy David Lidington to step in against Labour ’s Emily Thornberry.

@Thepileus claimed: “Emily Thornberry destroying the Tories at #PMQS today. You almost start to feel sorry for how the Tories are being humiliated until you think about how their policies have ruined the lives of millions and then you realise they deserve everything they get.”

@Tomfrench85 reported: “SNP Westminster Leader @Ianblackfordmp criticises the Tory government for rolling out the red carpet for Donald Trump, and calls on UK ministers to challenge his abysmal record on human rights, and disgusting treatment of women and minorities.”

@Tompeck reflected: “Emily Thornberry and David Lidington briefly reminding here that British politics doesn’t actually have to be unceasingly dreadful and, one day ten or so years from now, may be tolerable again.”

@Darrenpjones posted: “If the British people were duped by an illegal Brexit referendum, they deserve to know about it. That’s why I’ve called for a judge-led inquiry today.”

#WORLDFRINGEDAY

Yesterday marked the day that was set aside for the celebration of Fringe Festivals around the world.

@Joy_parkinson wrote: “Happy #Worldfringeday to all the glorious people who make it happen at @ edfringe, and the stupidly talented artists that take risks to bring joy.”

@Edfringe revealed: “Ladies and gentlemen! May we present the winner of our #Fringefood contest...the Full Scottish Breakfast! Because you can’t go #intotheunknown on an empty stomach! Happy #Worldfringeday everybody!”

@Greensidevenues posted: “Happy #Worldfringeday a day for us to celebrate the wonder of Fringe Festivals around the world. Special shout out to our wonderful #greensidefamily for joining our Fringe family.

@Baddogfringe reflected: “Happy #Worldfringeday 2018! Without Fringe spaces we’d be lacking an essential venue to explore multiple ideas and perspectives in such a close context, and new work such as Bad Dog would never get a chance to be performed.”
