Inquiries into death of man in Borders garden

A man has been found dead in the garden of a property in the Scottish Borders.

Police were called out to a residential address in Hillend Drive in Hawick at about 6am yesterday after the man was spotted lying unconscious outside a house.

The Scottish Ambulance Service was also alerted, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said that the death was being treated as “unexplained”.

Officers said inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
