Two yachts rescued by lifeboat crew

-

Oban RNLI lifeboat went to the rescue of a yacht that was dragging its anchor in Craignure Bay, Mull, on Saturday night.

A Stornoway Coastguard spokesman said the rescue boat arrived back in Oban just before midnight, with the yacht under tow.

Oban Volunteer Coastguard Rescue Team assisted the yacht to berth.

On Saturday afternoon the lifeboat was launched to help another yacht which had suffered engine failure, one mile west of Bach island, off the isle of Kerrera. The 12 metre yacht, with two on board, was towed to safety.
