Jim Goldie continued his recent run of form when he saddled two winners at Ayr’s traditional Glasgow Fair Monday Raceday.

Goldie struck first with Jessie Allan at odds of 33-1 in the Wemyss Bay Holiday Park Handicap over six furlongs. The mare came with a late surge to collar Revenge close to home and win by three quarters of a length.

The Goldie bandwagon continued to roll when Tommy G adopted similar hold up tactics to his stablemate to win the Polyflor Handicap over seven furlongs at odds of 10-1. Both horses were ridden by George Downing.

The feature race, the Parkdean Resorts Glasgow Fair Handicap, went to vale of kent, trained in North Yorkshire by Mark Johnston and ridden by Joe Fanning. The three yearold struck late to win at 9-2 but Nicholas T, another Jim Goldie horse, was an unlucky loser in the hands of Jimmy Sullivan.

Keith Dalgleish is another trainer in form and he saddled top weight Rock N Rolla, 5-2, to win the Sundrum Castle Holiday Park Handicap under Cal Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, High On Light can shine brightly on her second start following a lengthy lay-off when she goes for staying honours in the 132nd Year Of The Watt Memorial Handicap at Beverley today.

The five-year-old mare returned from a 284-day absence with an encouraging run on this course over a mile and a half.

Jane Elliott set a steady pace on the David Barron-trained daughterofmakfiand shewas only collared close to home. However, that race will have blown away the cobwebs.

This will be her first try at two miles, but she was successful over a mile and three-quarters at Haydock where she stayed no signs of stopping.
