Tumilty signs one-year deal with Morton as Blind leaves United in return to Ajax

Morton have snapped up freed Ross County defender Reghan Tumilty after a successful trial spell.

The 21-year-old, who trained with Hamilton Accies earlier this summer, signed a oneyear deal ahead of last night’s Betfred Cup tie against Championship rivals Partick Thistle.

Tumilty joined Falkirk on loan from County in November and spent the remainder of last season with the Bairns, scoring twice in 20 appearances.

Thefull-back,pictured, said: “I’ve signed a year’s deal here at Morton and I’m delighted to join the club.

“I left Ross County at the end of the season and went on trial with Hamilton for a couple of weeks then the option came up here. I played in a bounce game against Queen’s Park and we won 3-1. I then trained the Thursday and Friday after that. It went really well and I really enjoyed it.”

Daley Blind has completed his move from Manchester United back to his former club Ajax. He has signed a four-year deal with the Dutch club, whom he left four years ago to join United in a £14 million deal. Blind made 141 appearances for United, but found his opportunities increasingly limited under Jose Mourinho and played only seven Premier League matches last season. The deal for the 28-year-old is understood to be worth an initial €16m (£14.1m), with add-ons that could take the fee to €21m (£18.5m). Liverpool have made a €70m (£62m) bid for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, according to reports, though it is understood the Serie A outfit wanted €75m (£66.5m).

Either figure would be a world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper.

Alisson, 25, joined Roma from Brazilian side Internacional in 2016 and made 37 Serie A appearances last season. He played in all five of Brazil’s games at this summer’s World Cup, keeping three clean sheets.
