With the summer of 2018 already being one of the best in living memory for sunshine, a home with a garden is suddenly top of many buyer’s wishlists.

Having your own private outside space adds value to a property, whether it is acres of rolling lawn or just a square of greenery in which to grow flowers, soak up the sun or set up a barbecue.

For buyers of new homes, there are deals around to help you move, which could see you enjoying the rest of the summer in a brand new home with its own outside space.

With part exchange across many of its developments, Stewart Milne Homes is appealing to buyers who are still looking to move in this summer.

It is also offering free turf in outside areas in many of the summer deals, meaning the garden will be up and running for moving in day.

John Low, managing director of Stewart Milne Homes, says: “As the seasons change, so do people’s requirements of what they are looking for in a home, with a garden or outdoor space often becoming even more important in the run up to summer.

“Whether it’s a place to relax with family or entertain friends, having your own private garden can make a significant difference; not only providing you with a place to enjoy the weather but an extension of your home.”

The homebuilder has a selection of houses with gardens across a number of its Aberdeenshire developments including Charleston at Cove and Silver Birches in Alford.

Silver Birches is close to a community campus with swimming pool, indoor football pitch and classes offering activities all year round.

Cove’s shingle beaches and cliff top walks, make it a rural setting in close proximity to Aberdeen city centre, four miles away.

Both developments have properties ranging from twobedroomed terraced to fourbedroomed detached homes.

The Scottish Government’s Help to Buy initiative is available on homes up to a value of £200,000 at both Silver Birches and Cove.

There is a high level of specification, including integrated Smeg appliances and a choice of kitchen units, tiling and vanity units.

Most importantly, each of the properties has direct access to a private garden via double French doors from either the kitchen dining area or living room, ensuring buyers and families can make the most of the summer.

Low adds: “We realise the importance of external space and the need for it to be operational from the date of entry which is why each of our homes comes fully turfed, meaning buyers can enjoy the outdoors from day one.”

Meanwhile the company’s part exchange deal can provide an offer for an existing property within five days, allowing buyers to make the next step up the property ladder a reality.

Prices start from £194,995 for a two-bedroomed Aberwood at Silver Birches and £200,000 for a twobedroomed Aversley at Cove.
