Rape inquiry police look for ‘helper’

Police investigat­ing the rape of a woman in Glasgow want to speak to a man seen helping the victim.

The 30-year-old was assaulted on Broomielaw, near the railway bridge over the River Clyde, on Monday evening. Officers have released descriptio­ns of two men seen on CCTV footage who they believe may be able to help them trace her attacker.

Det Insp David Macgregor said: “This was a traumatic attack and it is critical that we trace the person responsibl­e as soon as possible.”
