Teenage boy charged after ‘break-ins’

A 14-year-old boy has been charged following a spate of break-ins in an Aberdeensh­ire village.

Over the past eight weeks the primary school, a hotel and a bowling club in New Pitsligo have been targeted as well as residentia­l properties. Police said the teenager will be reported to the Youth Justice Management Unit over alleged thefts by housebreak­ing, housebreak­ings with intent to steal and attempted housebreak­ings.

Detective Sergeant Sam Buchan said: “We are committed to tackling acquisitiv­e crime here in the north east.”
