Butefest

The bijou island of Bute has been in the news recently for the grimmest of reasons and who knows how that will play out in the atmosphere at this little gem of a festival set in beautiful Ettrick Bay. What is certain is that this year’s line-up is headed by bands who are known for bringing the party, with pop japes from The Hoosiers, ceilidh power from Skipinnish, above, and Rura and high-energy ska punk from Californian outfit Mad Caddies and the Neville Staple Band, while Roddy Woomble and King Creosote offer a more reflective balm.
