Codebreakers...

-

Has the pedestrian public forgotten or never learned how to use a Zebra Crossing?

In the past week I have narrowly missed a female pedestrian who walked along the pavement on Leith Walk and executed a smart turn straight on to the crossing without pausing to check for traffic and looked askance at me for not stopping on the proverbial sixpence.

The other was a male runner who, without breaking his stride, ran across the crossing, again without pause or checking for traffic. Again a near miss. If I had collided with either it would have been very difficult to prove my innocence. Does anyone read the Highway Code these days?
