Cup-holders Kyles set up final defence

Holders Kyles Athletic reached the Artemis Macaulay Cup final, beating Oban Camanachd 2-1 at Mossfield. Sandy Mackenzie put Kyles ahead two minutes before the interval, but Lorne Dickie levelled after the restart. Sandy Mackenzie’s second won the tie. Kyles will meet Kinlochshi­el in the final after they earned a 1-0 win over Lovat.

Newtonmore took advantage of all the cup action, beating Skye Camanachd 5-1 to go two points clear at the top of the Marine Harvest Premiershi­p. Glen Mackintosh, Michael Russell twice, Evan Menzies and Ewen Fraser got their goals, with John Gillies replying late on.

Stuart Callison’s double cancelled out Eddie Tembo’s opener as Lochaber defeated Glenurquha­rt 2-1.

Caberfeidh drew 3-3 with Kingussie. Craig Morrison (2) and Colin Maclennan netted for the hosts with Rory Macgregor, Roddy Young and Alexander Michie giving Kingussie a point.

National Division leaders Kilmallie won again, beating Inveraray 2-0. Glasgow Mid Argyll thrashed Inverness 10-0, while Fort William beat Strathglas­s 4-1.
