Watt: ‘Goal takes heat off me’

Montrose goalkeeper Jordan Millar made two terrific saves in the second half, first from David Mcmillan and then from his replacement Callum Hendry, but the League One side hit the woodwork twice late on as they pushed for the leveller.

“It takes the pressure off at the start, it takes the heat off me now,” said former Scotland international Watt. “You are never going to go up there and get an easy game. People think that because you are a Premiership team going to a League One team you are going to get 3-0 and 4-0 but it is not like that.

“We got the goal and I thought we controlled 60-70 per cent of the game but obviously they are a good team. They have the winning mentality as of last year and they showed us how they can play.”
