Unions railing

-

The UK’S three largest railway unions have called on the Scottish Government to scrap controversial plans to integrate British Transport Police into Police Scotland.

British Transport Police work anywhere in the UK and their authority as police officers is Uk-wide. Scottish Transport Police will lose the authority to cross the border into England and the British Transport Police will no longer be able to police trains crossing into Scotland.

Since 2014 what Scotland wants or needs is well off Nicola Sturgeon’s radar. If she wants this merger then it will happen. It does not matter to her a jot that it is a move in absolutely the wrong direction for Scotland and its policing. Best just to save your firepower for the day of the next election.
