Phone sex text scam gets firm seven-year ban

-

The bosses of a Scots company that ran a sex chat text message scam have been banned from running a business for seven years.

Partner Telecom bombarded mobile phones with nuisance text messages and charged users despite them never have signed up to the service.

The company’s directors Ian Mcclelland, 49, from Troon, and Stuart Pollock, 54, from West Sussex, have each been given bans after their Kilmarnock-based firm sparked dozens of complaints.

The company was fined £120,000 in 2016 following an investigation by the Phone-paid Services Authority (PSA), but it only paid £1,000.
