76-year-old ‘distressed’ after path robbery

An elderly woman was left “distressed” after being robbed as she walked along a path.

The 76-year-old fell to the ground after a man approached her from behind, near the junction of Magnolia Street and Rowan Street in Wishaw, and grabbed her handbag.

The suspect then made off with the bag, containing cash and personal items.

The robbery took place around 5:50pm on Saturday on a footpath in Coltness.

The pensioner was badly shaken but did not require medical treatment.
