Ventura Dragon can fire at Ayr

- By GLENDALE

Ventura Dragon is worth a try as he returns from a lengthy break in the feature race at Ayr today, the Western House Handicap.

Richard Fahey’s runner made a fine start to the year when winning at Doncaster in March, but he has not been out since gaining that half-length verdict. He looked as though he might rate a bit better still in victory and Fahey will doubtless have him well prepared.

Saeed bin Suroor saddles Dubai Horizon in this one and he is also represented later in the day by Desert Frost, the top weight in the Parkdean Resorts Handicap.

Desert Frost will be strongly fancied to go one better than his Hamilton second earlier this month but faces several course winners with Tommy G, from the in-form Jim Goldie yard, looking to add to the two wins he has had at the track already this summer.

The final race on the card is the Southerness Holiday Park Handicap over five furlongs and top weight Camanche Grey from the Ben Haslam yard looks the one to beat here.
