Ambulance worker saves family on M8

An emergency service worker helped a family escape their car moments before it burst into flames on a busy motorway.

Ashley Johnstone was driving with her two sons when her car broke down leaving the family stranded in the middle lane of the M8. Ambulance worker Suzanne Brown was on her way to work when she spotted Ashley and ushered the family to safety in her car, before the vehicle went up in flames. Ashley said: “I want to thank her kindness, for stopping and taking control of the situation and for being so calm.”
