Drill waste specialist in £5m North Sea contract

- By SCOTT REID

TWMA, a provider of specialised drilling waste management services, has secured a £5 million contract with Apache North Sea for work on the operator’s Beryl assets.

The firm has supported Apache on the project since 2013 and the contract award – covering three years – is the latest in a round of deal successes for the business, which employs more than 500 people globally.

The new Apache project requires drilling waste handling equipment that can be easily transported between the Beryl platforms and support vessels.

Drill cuttings will be processed at TWMA’S onshore processing facility in Peterhead, using technology that separates drill cuttings into three constituent parts of oil, water and solids for recycling and reuse.

Gareth Innes, chief commercial officer at TWMA, said: “This outcome is testament to our ability to deliver the safest and most efficient drilling waste solutions and we look forward to building on our strong relationship into the future.”
