Telemarketing firm fined over nuisance calls

-

A telemarketing firm has been fined £100,000 after making more than 75,000 nuisance calls about compensation for road traffic accidents.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) investigated AMS Marketing Ltd after receiving 103 complaints about its practices.

The firm, of Peacehaven in East Sussex, made 75,649 calls without bothering to check if recipients had opted out of receiving marketing calls by registering with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), the ICO said.
