Allegations over sex abuse could hit council funds
Historic sex abuse allegations may have to be considered when Falkirk Council agrees its budget for 2019-20.
With more people coming forward, councillors are preparing for victims to speak out against former employees in children’s homes run by the local authority, which could impact on the funds available for services.
Council leader Cecil Meiklejohn said that with more cases coming to light there could be survivors in Falkirk. He added: “Historical child abuse cases could be factored into our budget.”
