Mawson deal could spark Mckenna bid

-

Swansea City could be set to step up their interest in Aberdeen defender Scott Mckenna after Alfie Mawson completed his big-money switch to Fulham.

Mawson has moved to Craven Cottage on a fouryear deal for a reported fee of£15million,afterimpressive showings in spite of Swansea’s relegation from the Premier League.

With Mawson departing, Swansea are in the market for a centre-half and Aberdeen are bracing themselves for a bid for Mckenna after the Welsh club enquired about the Scotland international’s availability earlier this week.

Mawson, meanwhile, has become newly-promoted Fulham’s sixth signing of the summer and joins fellow new recruits Jean Michael Seri, Maxime Le Marchand, Fabri, Andre Schurrle and Aleksandar Mitrovic at Craven Cottage as the London club returns to the top flight.
