The leader of Glasgow City Council, Susan Aitken, has said the local authority’s lawyers are looking at ways to “supersede” UK law to help former asylum seekers facing eviction.

Why are single males not accommodated in hostels or bunk houses such as unused MOD barracks instead of housing stock.

Banjulbert If councils or any other public bodies are going to disrespect laws and supersede them with their own laws, surely that amounts to contempt and possibly anarchy. If so, can we expect to see the army on the streets to restore order?

Auld Reekie The key phrase here is: asylum seekers in Glasgow who have failed to gain refugee status. If they have failed to gain legal immigration they should be removed asap. Namby pamby PC councillors need to wise up to the fact that there is a legal process and if they fail it’s for a reason.

Jim Thomas I would expect Glasgow council to help asylum seekers, just as I would expect them to help get rid of those who are not actually asylum seekers. They need to be put out of the UK if they are not deemed asylum seekers.

I Know You Know

Well, I’m sure all the endless droves of young male economic migrants with makey-up asylum claims crossing into Europe will love to know that in the magic money tree virtue-signalling Socialist Scotland, no matter how much their claim is rejected, they’ll continue to be funded indefinitely to stay here.

Common Sensei Real refugees always consist of families! Not hundreds of thousand of young men!

David Kilpatrick I presume from Susan Aitken’s actions that she will be stopping the eviction of any Glasgow council tenant who defaults big time on their rent. After all, if she is trying to keep these men in privately owned properties they have lost the right to be in, she can hardly evict Scotsborn folk either, can she?

Mary Young Ah, the self-styled Glasgow City Government. Wondered how long it would be before they started getting ideas beyond bin collections.
