Remaining Carillion contracts awarded

- By ALAN JONES

The last of 278 contracts held by collapsed engineering giant Carillion have been handed over to new providers, signalling the end of the trading phase of the liquidation, it has been announced.

The Insolvency Service said there had been continued provision of essential public sector services across hospitals, schools, roads, rail and other key infrastructure without any service disruption or major incidents.

A statement said: “Caril lion is the largest ever trading liquidation in the UK. The continued uninterrupted delivery of essential public services since the company’s collapse in January reflects significant effort from its employees, supported by the Official Receiver and special manager teams.”
