Measuring up: New Look ekes out profit rise as overhaul plans progress
New Look has reported an upturn in profits as it pushes ahead with radical plans to cut costs and appeal to a broader range of shoppers. For the 13 weeks ended 23 June, total revenue fell by 2.7 per cent to £329.4 million, down from £338.7m during the same quarter last year. New Look brand’slike-for-likesaleswere down 4 per cent. However, this was an improvement on the 8.2 per cent decline recorded last year. Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation stabilised, up 1.5 per cent to £27.6m.
