More firepower please

It was a strange week and one can only hope that it was exhaustion from Thursday’s exertions and the late night that contributed to the timid performance on Sunday. The salvaged point might be considered a good result when the game as a whole is assessed.

The manager has, however, almost no choice but to dip into the transfer market and the need for defensive cover hopefully will not detract from the glaring requirement of firepower. We can’t rely on debut goals from the kids to keep us going all season. Nevertheless, the emergence of Bruce Anderson and Dean Campbell is a big positive. Scott Mckenna has shown that given playing time there is talent in the youth teams and Derek Mcinnes may now be less reluctant to throw them into first-team appearances.
