Man dies after four-vehicle crash on island

Am an has died after a four vehicle crash on the Isle of Skye.

The alarm was raised, about a mile north of Sligachan on the A87, at around 8.50am yesterday.

The crash involved a white Ford van, a white Audi Q 7, a blue Mercedes C-class and a silver Vauxhall van. A 54-year-old man driving the Ford died as a result of the collision. Another man in the same vehicle was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

The road was closed with a diversion in place from Sligachan to Dunvegan on A863.
