- By RUSSELL JACKSON

A drug dealer linked to serious organised crime, who was involved in bringing nearly £900,000 of cocaine and heroin into Dundee, has been jailed.

Dane Carroll admitted two counts of being involved in the supply of drugs, charg- es which were aggravated by a connection with serious organised crime.

The 28-year-old was jailed for five years at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday.

A Serious Crime Prevention Order was also imposed on Carroll. The order, which lasts for five years after he is released from prison, restricts his association with three individuals and ownership of communication devices. The order also requires Carroll to notify police of all his sources of income and restricts the amount of cash he can carry at one time.

The court heard that Carroll was responsible for cocaine worth more than £400,000 being transported to Dundee from Glasgow in March 2017. Two men also involved in moving the drugs, j oh nmcnei land Ryan Stewart, have already been jailed for a total of more than six years for their roles. In April 2018 Carroll was spotted by officers who were investigating drug supply in Dundee. He ran off and tried to hide a bag containing nearly 2kg of heroin, with a street value of nearly £490,000, in a bush.
