Sting meets Pope . . . months after singing in Latin for Sistine Chapel show
Pope Francis greets musician Gordon Sumner, better known as Sting, and his wife Trudie Styler, as he leaves after his weekly general audience at the Vatican.
The former Police frontman, 66, later tweeted: “Pope Francis is a true rock star! A genuine charisma that filled the room.”
Earlier this year, Sting provided music, with vocals in Latin, for a surround-sound show Universal Judgment: Michelangelo and the Secrets of the Sistine Chapel, which gave audiences an insight into the Vatican chapel. Sting is currently on tour with Jamaican musician Shaggy.
