How to save lives
Yet again, as reported in the Scotsman (7 August ) a twovehicle collision has occurred on the A9, with two men seriously injured.
The A9 between Inverness and Dunblane is a notoriously dangerous road with its confusing succession of single and dual carriageways where, getting it wrong and overtaking on a single section thinking it to be dual, will lead to the almost inevitable collision with an unsuspecting oncoming vehicle.
Why cannot white arrows be painted every quarter of a mile on each side of the single-way sections of the road, to indicate directions of travel ?
The simple and inexpensive use of white paint would surely go a long way to reducing injury and death on the A9.
I wonder about this every time I make that journey
