Taking shape: Steel frame construction gets under way at Lidl centre
The first stage of steel frame construction is under way at supermarket chain Lidl’s new Scottish regional distribution centre at Eurocentral, which will be the company’s largest in Britain. The full frame will take some 12 weeks to erect and comprises 4,000 tonnes of steel – more than five times the amount used in The Kelpies sculpture. Ross Millar, Lidl UK’S MD for Scotland, said: “The facility will help us make sure that Lidl stores across the country can continue to serve the increasing demand from our customers.”
