The league campaign started with a narrow defeat to a late Ross County goal – a real blow when the players put in so much effort.

Jim Goodwin has put together a capable starting X1, but it’s clear additional personnel are still required to provide alternative options. To fill these gaps, he will utilise the loan market in coming weeks. This served him well in last season’s promotion campaign, picking up the likes of Jordan Kirkpatrick and Ross Stewart from his old club St Mirren, who both played a massive part in our success. I expect us to give most sides in the Championship a tough game. We’ve also narrowed our pitch to minimum dimensions which universally hasn’t been too popular – time will tell if this is an effective strategy.
