Helmets on
Yesterday’s Scotsman carried a picture of six cyclists on Princes Street, 50 per cent of whom are not wearing helmets.
Why are cyclists not bound by law to wear head protection? In fact I believe they ought to be obliged to wear full helmets as are motorcyclists, as they travel around town just as fast.
They are also at greater risk than motorcyclists as they have not passed a driving test to at least demonstrate they have some road sense. Many a pedestrian would testify that a fair proportion have not.
