Marching season

-

Independence campaigners should do “less marching and more listening”, according to former SNP justice secretary Kenny Macaskill. His comments follow a series of proindependence events.

He’s right. We should have a respectful discussion with those on the fence and soft Nos and people who voted No last time.

David William Summers Agreed. Stopping calling No voters “traitors” and “scum” would be a good start!

Callum Macleod I don’t do namecalling, or online abuse. I try very hard to be open and understanding. Despite this, and despite thousands of No voters taking to the net to abuse us, they still won the referendum. Jamie Morton That’s ironic coming from someone like Mcaskill. I don’t think he’s ever listened to anyone in his life! In particular his advisors when he comes out with one of his ridiculous, ill thought out statements or ideas.

Alastair Browne He is right. I was in two minds as to how I should vote at the referendum but frankly the behaviour of some (not all) Yes voters put me right off. Given the SNP’S own figures released recently, I would still need a lot of persuading – and aggressive flag-waving wouldn’t be a contributory factor.
