Don’t Kill Your Darlings
Zoo Charteris (Venue 124) A lightly likeable clownish performance from Norwegian improv artiste Ingvid Haugstad helps make this just about tolerable but not satisfying. Ostensibly, it’s the story of someone retreating from life after losing a loved one after choking on a raspberry drop, but you’d really
be hard pressed to gain any sense of narrative.
Instead, Haugstad plays to her strengths, gently clowning with the audience, constantly waving and asking for suggestions to keep us involved, but there’s not enough invention to sustain the show’s short duration. She’d make an excellent children’s entertainer, though.
