Actor adds fuel to Bond rumours

Idris Elba has added fuel to rumours he could take over the role of James Bond from Daniel Craig with a cryptic Twitter post. The Luther star shared a heavily filtered selfie in which only the top half of his face is visible, writing: “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba.”

Fans interpreted it as a reference to the famous spy’s catchphrase “the name’s Bond, James Bond”. Elba has long been rumoured to be in the running to take over the role, alongside Tom Hardy, James Norton and Tom Hiddleston.
