Council offers ‘opportunity’ to help clear snow
A Scottish council could ask for volunteers to help clear snow this winter.
Cash-strapped Angus Council said the move could help reduce the local authority’s spend during spells of poor weather.
Head of infrastructure Ian Cochrane said: “This is an area of opportunity for local communities to become increasingly involved.
“It is proposed to offer community groups the opportunity to volunteer to take action in gritting and snow clearance. The proposal would be to offer bags of salt, hi-vis vests and advice.”
