#MOSS SIDE

Ten people were hospitalised, including two children, after a shooting in the Moss Side area of Manchester.

@prielleprielle wrote: “I’m literally getting so mad at all these people tweeting stuff about Moss Side. If you’ve never been here let alone lived here you literally have no right to judge it or have an opinion on it.”

@ilyas_nagdee said: “You know what p **** s me off? You lot don’t know the way the community looks after each other in Moss Side. They’ve face systematic defunding, police violence, council targeting and enforced deprivation yet still they organise and come together. Moss Side is magnificent.”

@safaakhan10 added: “What happened in Moss Side is messed up, just like this world is.

#IDRISELBA

Idris Elba stoked rumours that he could be the next James Bond by tweeting “my name’s Elba, Idris Elba” early yesterday morning. @Technicallyron wrote: “Idris Elba as James Bond?! What next? Other talented actors at the top of their game breathing new life into franchises and genres which have become boring and stagnant through over saturation in a world where ticket sales mean more than actual good original stories?” @lovernios tweeted: “I’m white. I’m a man. I’m cool with Idris Elba playing James Bond. I don’t see the problem. Good for Mr. Elba.” @cousinwayne said: “Love Idris Elba but Dan Stevens was born to play James Bond and if you don’t agree then rewatch The Guest.”

#MCGINN

Aston Villa fans were full of praise for John Mcginn after the former Hibs midfielder played a starring role in their 3-2 win over Wigan.

@ditlewis said: “Two words – John Mcginn. Probably the best home debut of a Villa player I’ve ever seen – we’ve signed an absolute cracker.”

@Villamarkpgh wrote: “Mcginn is going to terrorize opposition midfields all season. Absolute treat to watch.”

@will_avfc tweeted: “Absolutely love John Mcginn’s hunchback running style, don’t ever change it son.”

@tompmcgowan joked: “Probably too late for John Mcginn to win the Ballon d’or this year but he’ll certainly be in the conversation.”
