Art attack...
A giant unicorn on Cramond Island (“Scotland needs a giant unicorn statue”, 11 July). Wow! Thought it must be 1 April.
The Angel of The North is a fine and important piece by an internationally renowned sculptor. Imaginative, creative and of international significance, it also means a great deal to people of the Northeast of England. A unicorn on Cramond Island is no more than a Disneyland-ish sop for the benefit of tourists.
Please, if a monumental sculpture is needed, can we not have one of quality and importance and value not only to tourists but more importantly to the community in the East of Scotland?
More Kelpies we do not need. More great art we do.
