Wilson’s shop window
It’s always nice to get the first win of the season out of the way but the makeshift nature of the defence confirmed the need for some defensive reinforcements and with a new forward now signed a defender cannot be far behind.
Meanwhile, the arrival of James Wilson is an interesting development. He is clearly a player who has shown potential in the past. A successful youth-team career and first-team appearances with goals for Manchester United is not a bad CV for a player. With a year left on his contract he has a point to prove and needs to put himself in the shop window.
Both Danny Ward and James Maddison have proved that a loan with us can significantly boost a player’s prospects and fans are hoping that Wilson can follow their lead.
