Ajax cruise into play-off round
Ajax eased into the Champions League play-off round with their 3-0 second-leg victory over Standard Liege at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
The Dutch giants had been held to a 2-2 stalemate in last week’s first leg in Belgium, but goals by Klass-jan Huntelaar, Matthijs de Ligt and David Neres set up a final qualifying round two-legged tie with Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kiev. Elsewhere, Spartak Moscow were knocked out 3-2 on aggregate by PAOK Salonika, Benfica edged past Fenerbahce 2-1, Mol Vidi went through on the away goals rule following their goalless draw with Malmo and Dinamo
Zagreb were comfortable as they saw off FC Astana 3-0 over two legs.
