Cipriani police assault charge
England rugby star Danny Cipriani has been charged with assaulting police during an incident at a Jersey nightclub.
The fly-half, 30, is also charged with resisting arrest, common assault, larceny, and being disorderly on licensed premises, police said.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Jersey Magistrates’ Court today.
His club Gloucester confirmed he had been arrested and charged, and that he will be appearing in court.
A police spokesman said: “He’s been remanded in custody until his court appearance at the magistrates’ court at 10am tomorrow. He was arrested at the early hours of this morning following an incident in Mulcaster Street in St Helier.”
