A British woman survived for ten hours after falling from a cruise ship into the sea off Croatia.

The 46-year-old, who had been on a Norwegian Star cruise ship, was rescued after plunging into the Adriatic Sea shortly before midnight on Saturday around 60 miles off the coast.

She told a Croatian news channel: “I fell off the back of the Norwegian Star and I was in the water for 10 hours, so these wonderful guys rescued me.”

The woman was taken to a hospital in nearby Pula.
