Balfour+manson promotes young talent to lead the way

Michaela Guthrie and Ross Forrest joined the firm as trainees in 2014 and have been promoted just two years after qualifying as solicitors. Both will work in the firm’s litigation department. Executive chairman Elaine Motion said: “Balfour+manson continues to be fully committed to developing talented young people, irrespective of age. The promotion of Michaela and Ross shows this commitment very clearly, following on from the appointment of Jamie Foulis as partner at the age of just 29 last year.” The firm has also hired experienced private client solicitor Graeme Thomson from Boyd Legal as a senior associate.
● Independent land agent Bell Ingram has appointed three industry experts. Rob Whitson is to join as partner and will take responsibility for running the company’s offices in Inverness and Bonar Bridge, Sutherland. Whitson, formally of Strutt & Parker, will lead Bell Ingram’s estate management and professional work in the north of Scotland. Andrew Fuller joins the Oban office as an associate estate agent following almost 15 years of managing high-level private and corporate development projects in the United Arab Emirates. ● Petrofac has appointed Fady Sleiman chief digital officer as the oilfield services company continues its digital transformation. Sleiman joins from Middle East and North Africa investment company Waha Capital, where he was chief information officer/group head of IT. His appointment follows that of new CIO Allan Cockriel, who joined from GE in April, and comes as Petrofac focuses on identifying and delivering ways digital technology can be used to improve the performance of its own business, as well as services provided to its clients.
● Susan Barclay joins as practice manager, while Julia Catto takes on the position of events and marketing executive. Kieran Taylor has also been recruited to add to the firm’s growing team of financial consultants. Completing the quartet of new recruits is Madelynne Stephen in the role of financial administrator.
